A BIG 2020 ahead for B/N Lacrosse!

January 9, 2020

Happy New Year from the FOBNL team!!

With the holidays behind us and our high-schoolers now back to the grind we wanted to pass along a quick update on our fundraising efforts as we start looking ahead to the 2020 inaugural lacrosse campaign for our boy and girl co-op teams.

After the D87 and U5 co-op was approved on October 26th, the FOBNL board set a goal to raise $50,000 by the end of 2019. This week, Teresa and Mike shared a fundraising update with the Unit5 Administration highlighting that as of January 6th, through the generosity of our friends, families, and our B/N lacrosse community, we have received and have deposited $49,103 into our FOBNL account!

Meaning, since our last update on December 15th, we have received over $26,000 in donations from family and friends of the B/N Lacrosse program. In addition to the generous support of over 40 families and extended families who have made donations to the program in 2019, we received a significant donation from a local private foundation who shares our mission to support the growth and development of our area youth as well as a generous donation from the B/N Warriors Lacrosse club to help launch the high-school co-op lacrosse programs.

Having reached this goal does not mean we can stop our fundraising. We are looking ahead to this season's event schedule and considering what we need to set up the following year and we need to carry this momentum into 2020 and beyond. We have set a new goal of $70,000 to be raised by the end of the spring lacrosse season. For those that have not donated, please keep in mind that your donation of $300 helps cover uniforms, equipment, transportation and competition fees for one player for the entire season. If you have not yet donated, we would appreciate your support by clicking the DONATE button at the top of the page.

We also wanted to quickly highlight that our fundraising co-chairs (Kelly Freeman and Beth Witzemann) have set-up our next Dine-and-Donate at Portillo's on South Veterans on January 23rd from 4-8pm. Please come out and enjoy some great food for a great cause! Who doesn't need a beef and sausage combo, dipped, with mozzarella and hot gardinera after the holidays? (Allegedly they have salads too, so we've heard). You can present the flyer attached below at checkout or show them the electronic version (the FOBNL Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages also have a copy of the flyer as well).

Finally, the logos for the BN Lacrosse co-ops have been approved by the AD's at all three high schools. We are currently getting the apparel sites developed and are working on different version and styles to match any season and wardrobe. More details to come on that soon.

Again, thank you to all our founding donors, your support has helped make varsity high school lacrosse a reality for the players in our community.

Sticks up!!
